Subject: 30 Days of Prayer, Day two
Sent: May 18, 2010 3:52 PM Day Two Thank you to all of you who have joined our team. We currently have 30 people praying. Today, lets pray that God would open doors to the community. Our current location places us right in the heart of a busy neighborhood. (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=7870+south+garrison.+littleton+co) The road outside my office window has cars passing all day long. I often wonder what those car think of this church building, or if they even see it? When people ask, I tell them our church is... "one block east of Kipling on Ken Caryl, turn south at the Conoco gas station, at the top of the hill is a car wash, come down the hill, over two speed bumps and we are on the left." Two speed bumps. Is that all people know about us? Oh, the church by the speed bumps. Let us pray that our reputation in the neighborhood would be really strong. Listen to Luke describe the church in Jerusalem Acts 2:46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Listen to what Paul says about the Roman church. Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. Lets pray that the EDGE would enjoy the favor of all the people around us and that the world would know us as a church famous for it's faith. Imagine this. When we say we go to The EDGE Colorado, that people would say, "Oh, you are that church that really trusts God." Actions steps: 1) Would you say a special prayer today for Nina Sloan, her cousin is in ICU with a very serious case of pneumonia. And for Kim Kopp, who begins chemo and radiation today for her cancer. 2) Pray that the reputation of the EDGE in the neighborhood would be strengthened. 3) Pray that we make the most of every opportunity to live out our faith in the neighborhood.
